Brenham House Pecan Pie Bars

Here it is as requested by our guests!
Brenham House Pecan Pie Bars
1 yellow cake mix (reserve 2/3 c. for topping)
1 stick of butter, melted
1 egg
Preheat oven to 350 degrees and grease a 13x9 inch baking dish.
Mix the crust, by combining the first three ingredients.  Reserve 2/3 c. of the cake mix.
Spread the mixture in the bottom of the baking dish.  Bake until crust is light brown.
(I'm not sure how long.  I have never timed it because I can watch it while I am making the second part.)
3 eggs
2/3 c. cake mix
1 T. flour
1- 1/2 c. white Karo Syrup
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 T. vanilla
2 c. pecans, chopped
Mix eggs, cake mix, four, Karo syrup, vanilla & pecans together.
Pour mixture over the crust and bake for 35-40 minutes, or until done.
Cut into small squares when cooled
There is nothing better in the South than pecan pie, you'll love these bars!
Sometimes they get topped with Blue Bell Ice Cream and a drizzle of caramel sauce!
