Welcome to our home. The Brenham House was built in the 1920’s on the foundation of what was the first German Lutheran Church of Brenham. Unfortunately, the church was destroyed during the great storm of the 1900’s, leaving the sturdy lime stone steps behind – steps that continue to greet visitors today.
The Round Top Antique Festival seems to get bigger and bigger each year. You can come early and get great deals with out having to pay to get in to shop and there is free parking. We had guests who stayed with us last night who shopped and scouted on September 25th and went back out today. More coming tonight. You don't have to come the last weekend of the Antique Show to get what you may be looking for. If you are going out this weekend come on back to Brenham's downtown to eat. There will be less traffic and less wait time. More time to RELAX!
Cottage gardens are informal gardens with dense plantings that are highly individualistic. English in origin the cottage gardens use grace and charm rather than formal structure. Many times there is a rose-bowered arbor entrance. These gardens give the homes such romantic appeal.
The Brenham House uses old-fashioned plants and varieties such as antique roses, native plants, herbs, and self-sowing perennials
which come back year after year.
As the years go by cottage gardens become very dense.
