13th Annual International Macsabal Woodfire Workshop 2011

Feb. 15-22, 2011
Local potter Doug Peck is hosting 8 internationally known South Korean potters for the 
13th annual International Macsabal Woodfire Workshop 2011.
This is a unique opportunity 
for the public to view the work of internationally know potters as well as watch demonstrations of pottery being produced
 and fired in a hugh outdoor woodfire kiln.  
It has taken Doug most of 2010 to construct the large woodfire kiln on his property, at the edge of Brenham.
Feb. 16 Kiln lighting ceremony 6-8 p.m.
Feb. 16-18 Demonstrations of throwing pottery 10-3 p.m.
Feb. 16-20 firing of the kiln 10-3 p.m.
Feb. 18 Meet the Artist Happy Hour 4-6 p.m.
Feb. 19 Pottery exhibition
All events open to the public and are free.

Wonderful Pottery Demonstrations from South Koreans

Doug Peck has been working on a wood fired kiln that is 34 feet long and is expected to produce temperatures of 2,400 degrees.
Peck will be hosting 8 South Korean potters
